Our Revels Now Are Ended (The Tempest)

William Shakespeare

11 passagesc. 1611

1Our revels now are ended. These our actors,

2As I foretold you, were all spirits and

3Are melted into air, into thin air:

4And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,

5The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces,

6The solemn temples, the great globe itself,

7Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve

8And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,

9Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff

10As dreams are made on, and our little life

11Is rounded with a sleep.
