Praise and Adoration
1Praise to the Holiest in the height,
2And in the depth be praise:
3In all His words most wonderful;
4Most sure in all His ways!
5O loving wisdom of our God!
6When all was sin and shame,
7A second Adam to the fight
8And to the rescue came.
The Gift of Grace
9O wisest love! that flesh and blood
10Which did in Adam fail,
11Should strive afresh against the foe,
12Should strive and should prevail;
13And that a higher gift than grace
14Should flesh and blood refine,
15God's presence and His very Self,
16And Essence all-divine.
17O generous love! that He who smote
18In man for man the foe,
19The double agony in man
